Many of the Oracle Assets reports are available as variable format reports, which means you can view and manipulate the report data in the desktop application of your choice. For example, you can download the information into Microsoft Excel and sort, analyze, and manipulate the report data using familiar spreadsheet features. You can also format the report as an HTML file and place it on your Web server or directly into the database for general access.
To create a variable format report, an attribute set that contains formatting instructions is applied to Oracle Assets report data. You also have a variety of options to publish your report.
In Oracle Applications, attribute sets are defined using the RXi Report Administration Tool. In Applications Desktop Integrator, you can apply ADI defined attribute sets to format and publish your report from the Request Center.
Each Oracle Assets variable format report has two submission options:
One-Step - You generate, apply an attribute set, and publish your report, all in one step.
Note: In the list of values on the Submit Request window, for reports you run using the one-step process, the title of the report is followed by RXi. For example, Mass Additions Report: RXi.
Two-Step - You can generate your report and note the concurrent request ID. Use this ID to apply an attribute set in:
ADI - apply an ADI defined attribute set using the Request Center to publish your report.
Oracle Applications - apply an attribute set defined by the RXi Report Administration Tool. Concurrent processing applies the attribute set to your generated report. Additional parameters are applied to publish your report.
