Pick Load Page Setup

Use the Pick Load Page Setup window to create templates that define configurations for the mobile pick load pages. The parameters on the pick load template control the behavior of the fields and buttons on the mobile pick load pages. You can set different levels of control for each of the fields as well as customize the page to a location or user. You can set different display and confirmation control for serial controlled items and non-serial controlled items so you can avoid unnecessary data confirmation. You can customize the Order Information page to display the information you need, and retrieve any fields from the database.

The Pick Load Setup Page window also contains default system templates. You may choose to use these templates, create your own templates, or modify existing templates. The Pick Load Page Setup window contains the following default templates:

  7. Select the LPN Fields tab. The information you enter on the LPN Fields tab determines how the system retrieves, transfers, nests, and transacts the material on the Mobile Pick Load page. You can set different configurations for loose picks and fully consumable LPN scans. (A fully consumable LPN is an LPN that is entirely consumable by a pick.) Whereas, if an LPN is partially consumed, material remains in the LPN. The fields are as follows:

Note: The Transfer LPN field and the Into LPN field cannot be visible at the same time.

The following table lists the main fields, and the available choices.

Field Display only no confirmation Hide fields Show both fields Confirm second with no LOV Single line input with no LOV, value defaulted
Transfer LPN Yes Yes Yes Yes
Into LPN Yes Yes Yes Yes
    PALLET_LPN No Yes No Yes
  8. Select the Buttons tab to define the button behavior on the mobile device. You can choose the button display order, as well as hide the buttons from view. The available choices are 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, and 80. The button with the lowest number appears first on the mobile device. Select the Visible check box if you want the button to appear on the mobile device. The available buttons are:

    1. <Load>

    2. <Load and Pass>

    3. <Pass>

    4. <Load and Drop>

    5. <Attachment>

    6. <Exception>

    7. <Skip Task>

    8. <Info>

    9. <Shipping Instructions> (hidden by default)

    10. <Packing Instructions> (hidden by default)

    11. <Task Group> (hidden by default)

  9. Select the Page Level tab. This tab enables you to control the behavior of attachments, catch weight, and exceptions when picking partial lot quantities.

  10. Select the Show Attachments display option. The available choices are:

  11. Select the Catch Weight Entry and Field Behavior. The available choices are:

Additional Information: This setting is not applicable when the fulfillment base is Secondary. For secondary based fulfillment, catch weight entry is not supported on the Pick Load page. Instead, you must navigate to the Catch Weight mobile page after the pick load to record the catch weight.

  12. Select the Bypass Exception When Picking Partial Lot Quantity behavior. The available choices are:

  13. Select the Allow Negative Balance behavior. The available choices are:

Attention: The system will not consume any reservation or allocation if Allow Negative Balance is selected.

  14. Select the Show Task Quantity in Pick UOM behavior. The available choices are:

  15. Select the Allow Over Pick without Exception behavior. The available choices are:

Note: The allow overpick without exception option is not supported for serial-controlled items.

  16. Select the Allow Under Pick without Exception behavior. The available choices are:

  17. Select the Display Picked Quantities in Secondary UOM. The available choices are:

Attention: This setting is not applicable when the fulfillment base is Secondary. For secondary based fulfillment, picks are always done in the secondary quantity. The user has the option of changing the UOM to another UOM in the same class as the secondary UOM. The user does not enter the primary quantity on the Pick Load page. The primary quantity is adjusted after pick load, using the Catch Weight mobile page.

If you choose to display the secondary quantity, then the requested quantity field on the General Fields tab controls the behavior of secondary quantities as well. If the item is under dual UOM control, then the system retrieves the value of the Display Picked Quantities in Secondary UOM field. If the value is Always or Enterable, then the system checks the value of the requested quantity field. The Requested Quantity field determines whether you need to confirm the secondary quantity field, or whether the system displays it. If the item is tracked in the primary UOM and priced in the secondary UOM, then the catch weight fields control the display fields. If the item is tracked in both units of measure, then the Display Picked Quantities in Secondary UOM field takes precedence.

  18. Select the Hide "Load and Drop" Button until Last Task behavior:

Note: You must enable the Load and Drop button to set values for this field.

Note: You need to first enable the Load and Drop button before it can be hidden.

  19. Select the Hide "Load" Button On Last Task behavior:

The Hide "Load" button on Last Task field shows the user that the last task for the picking group has been reached. This value works in tandem with the Hide Load and Drop Button until Last Task field and should be set accordingly.

Note: You must enable the Load button to set values for this field.

  20. Select the Allow Lot substitution without exception behavior:

During picking, you can select an alternative lot for the item. Although the system does not re-run the picking rules for this process, it does honor existing allocations and lot reservations. You cannot select a lot for which allocations and previous reservations exist.

Attention: The Allow Lot substitution without exception setting applies to changing or substituting lots not LPNs.

If the LPN is allocated, you need to change the LPN (the allocated LPN by raising an LPN Exception) and then substitute the lot on the Item Details page. After the LPN is changed, then the Allow Lot substitution without exception setting is applicable to the transaction.

Substituting the Lot from a Different LPN

To substitute the lot from a different LPN (other than from the allocated lot), you need to consider the Allow Lot substitution without exception parameter settings on the Pick Load Page Setup template. Raising an LPN Exception and the parameter Allow Lot substitution without exception are different concepts but work in conjunction as described in the following table:

LPN Based Allocation If the allocation mode is set to allocate the LPN for a task, and you want to pick from a different LPN, you need to raise a Change LPN Exception.

Note: The allocation mode is assigned in the Allocation Mode field on the WMS Rules window.

When the LPN is changed, the system validates the LPN by evaluating the setting selected for the Allow Lot substitution without exception parameter:
    • Yes: You can change the LPN and can substitute the lot on the Item Details page.

    • No: Lot substitution can occur for lots inside the allocated LPN after you raise the Change Lot Exception on the Item Details page. If you need to pick from another LPN and substitute the lot, you must:

      1. Raise a change LPN Exception and select an LPN which has an allocated lot + unallocated lots.

      2. Raise a Change Lot Exception on the Item Details page.

      3. Substitute the lot.

      4. Proceed with the task.

Non LPN Based Allocation If the allocation mode setting does not allocate LPNs to the task (and the allocation is only at Lot level) then you do not have to raise a Change LPN Exception. However, the following parameter settings impact the allocation:
    • If Allow Lot substitution without exception is set to Yes, then the lot substitution is allowed.

    • If Allow Lot substitution without exception is set to No, then lot substitution can occur only from LPNs which have the allocated lot by raising the Change Lot Exception at the Item Details page.
