In order to work with sections and clauses in a business document, you must first apply a contract template to the business document.
You must have defined and approved a contract template.
You must be in the Contract Terms page for your business document.
In the Contract Terms page, click the flashlight icon beside the Contract Template field.
Select the contract template, and click Apply Template to bring in all the clauses from the template to the Contract Terms page.
After you have applied a contract template to a business document, you may change the value of the contract template. For details, see Changing the Contract Template of a Business Document.
If you apply a Contract Expert enabled contract template to a business document, which has rules using variables, the system automatically runs Contract Expert in the background and brings the necessary clauses into the document.
If the Contract Expert enabled contract template includes questions, then Contract Expert is not run in the background. Similarly while reviewing deviations, variable based rules are resolved in the background and deviations are reported.
You can apply multiple templates to a business document. When you apply multiple templates duplicate clauses are not added.
