Validating Contracts

You validate contracts to identify potential errors and warnings. This is commonly done when you submit contracts for approval. In addition, the system automatically runs the Validation process when a contract is submitted for approval.

If you submit a contract for approval and any error conditions are found, you must fix the error conditions and then resubmit the contract for approval. You can choose to ignore warnings.

Note: You can run the validation process at any stage of the contract creation process.

Steps

  1. Create a new contract or search and open a contract for update. The contract must be in the Draft status.

  2. Select the Validate action.

  3. Click Go. The system performs the validation and displays the results in the Validation Results page.

  4. Review the results and if applicable, correct both warning and error conditions. Prior to submitting a contract for approval, you must correct all reported errors.
