Entering Employer Identification Information for a GRE

You enter Employer Information for your organization in the Employer Identification window.

arrow icon   To enter Employer Identification information for a GRE:

  1. In the Organization window, query the GRE/Legal Entity if it does not already appear there.

  2. In the Organization Classifications region, select GRE/Legal Entity, choose Others, and select Employer Identification.

  3. Click in the Additional Organization Information field to open the Employer Identification window.

  4. Enter the Statutory Reporting Name. This would be the employer name registered with the Canada Revenue Agency. It appears on the T4 and T4A year end slips.

  5. Select the Reporting Type for this GRE:

    T4/RL1 Select this option if payments for this GRE are to be reported on slips T4 and RL-1.
    This is the default.
    T4A/RL1 Select this option if payments for this GRE are to be reported on slips T4A and RL-1 (for example, retiring allowance).
    T4A/RL2 Select this option if payments for this GRE are to be reported on slips T4A and RL-2 (for example, pensions).
  6. Enter the Payroll Account Number assigned by the CRA. The format for this number is 9 digits followed by 'RP' followed by 4 digits.

  7. Select the Quebec Identification Number assigned by the Revenu Quebec, if there are employees in the province of Quebec.

    Note: Oracle HRMS validates the first 10 digits of this number.

  8. Enter the employer's Employment Insurance (EI) rate applicable for this Payroll Account Number.

  9. Select the self adjust calculation method for CPP, QPP, EI, and PPIP processing. Available options are:

    No Self Adjust Performs no adjustments on the deduction to correspond with year-to-date pensionable/insurable earnings.
    Self Adjust Adjusts the deduction for the pay period during which the year-to-date pensionable/insurable earnings does not correspond with the year-to-date deduction.
    Self Adjust at Max Adjusts the deduction when the year-to-date pensionable/insurable earnings reaches the maximum for the year, if the year-to-date pensionable/insurable earnings do not correspond with the year-to-date deduction.
    This is the default.
  10. Select the Tax Group that this GRE belongs to, if applicable. You must have already set up organizations with a classification of Tax Group in order for the LOV to contain values.

    The Tax Group associates several GREs so that employees who transfer from one GRE to another within the group receive credit in the new GRE for amounts withheld in the former GRE toward the Canada/Quebec Pension and Employment Insurance annual maximum deductions.

  11. Select the Federal Tax Method for this GRE

  12. Select the Provincial Tax Method for Regular and Non Periodic payments.

  13. Select the NAIC code applicable for this GRE.

  14. Identify the GRE that is designated as the Transmitter GRE for year end magnetic reporting. Choose from the list of GREs identified as transmitters.
