Running the Security List Maintenance Process

You run the Security List Maintenance process to update the lists of organizations, positions, employees and applicants that security profiles can access. You should run this process regularly, for example nightly, to take account of changes made during the day.

See Security Processes

  2. In the Parameters window, enter the date for which you want to run the report in the Effective Date field. If you do not enter a date the process runs for the current system date.

  3. In the Generate lists for field, select the range of security profiles for which you want to run the process. You can choose to update:

  4. If you have selected All Security Profiles in One Named Business Group, select a business group.

  5. If you have selected One Named Security Profile, select a security profile.

  6. If you have selected One Specified User in One Named Security Group, select a security profile and the user name.

  7. In the Process field, select the type of people to be processed. You can choose from the following values:

  8. In the Static User Processing field, choose whether to run the process for all static users or only those users selected for inclusion in the next processing run (selected on the Static Users tab of the Security Profile window).

Note: You can use this parameter only if you have chosen a processing option other than One Specified User in One Named Security Group.

  9. In the Use Temporary Space field, select Yes to store data in the PER_PERSON_LIST_STAGE table when the SLM process runs. PER_PERSON_LIST_STAGE is a temporary staging table and the data is stored temporarily. If the data is stored in the temporary table, then this action avoids locking the records of active users in the PER_PERSON_LIST actual table when the SLM process runs. During the final stages of the SLM process, the application copies data from the PER_PERSON_LIST_STAGE table to the PER_PERSON_LIST table.

Note: You can use this parameter only if you have chosen 'One Named Security Profile' as the processing option

  10. Choose OK.
