Running the Report on Hirings Interface

Run the Report on Hirings Interface program to generate a text (.txt) file to submit hiring information electronically to Service Canada using their online application Data Gateway. This program also generates an exception report in a PDF format to view employees who have incorrect data. For example, the exception information includes invalid or duplicate employee social insurance numbers.

Run the Report on Hirings Interface from the Submit Request window.

arrow icon   To run the Report on Hirings Interface:

  1. In the Name field, select Report on Hirings Interface.

  2. Enter the Parameters field to open the Parameters window.

  3. Enter a starting hire date for the report.

  4. Enter an ending hire date for the report.

  5. Select a Government Reporting Entity if you want to generate the report for a specific GRE.

  6. In the Sort Option fields, specify the order that you want the new hires to be displayed on the report. You can specify Hire Date, Employee ID, or Social Insurance Number as sort options one, two, or three.

  7. Click OK and then Submit.

The Report on Hirings Interface initiates the following concurrent programs:

  1. ROH Interface Employee Report: Generates a text (.txt) file for each GRE. The text file name includes the business number (example: 123456789RP0001.txt). This is the file that is uploaded to the Data Gateway program.

  2. ROH Interface Exception Report: Generates an exception report in a PDF format to report exceptions.
