Oracle SSHR enables managers and workers to delete any transactions that they have initiated and are in the pending approval stage. You can enable this functionality using the HR: Enable Initiator to Delete a Pending-Approval Transaction profile option.
For more information about the HR: Enable Initiator to Delete a Pending-Approval Transaction user profile, see: User Profiles
When you set this profile option to Yes at any one of the levels: site, application, responsibility (Manager Self-Service and Employee Self-Service) or at the user level, the Delete icon is enabled on the following pages:
All Actions Awaiting your Attention (Employee Self-Service responsibility)
Personal Actions (Employee Self-Service responsibility)
All Actions Awaiting your Attention (Manager Self-Service responsibility)
Manager Actions (Manager Self-Service responsibility)
Initiators can view the transactions in the Pending Approval stage and delete the transactions prior to approval.
When an initiator deletes a transaction that is pending approval, Oracle SSHR performs the following actions:
Closes all the notifications associated with the transaction from the worklist and All actions Awaiting Your Attention region.
Removes the transactions with the Pending-Approval stage from the initiator's list of actions.
Deletes the transaction from the HR_API_TRANSACTIONS table.
Examples Illustrating the Delete Pending Transactions Functionality
An initiator can delete a transaction pending approval at any point in the transaction flow till the transaction is approved.
The following examples describe the different scenarios in a transaction flow. In these examples, John Smith is an employee in the Human Resources department in Vision Corporation and he reports to Tracy Price. Tracy Price reports to James King who is the director of the Human Resources department.
John can delete a transaction in the following scenarios:
John submits a transaction to Tracy and the transaction is in the Pending Approval stage.
John submits a transaction that requires approval from Tracy and James. John can delete the transaction after Tracy's approval, pending approval from James.
James returns a transaction submitted by John, for correction to Tracy. Now, as the transaction is in the pending approval, John can delete the transaction.
Tracy corrects the transaction submitted by John, and submits it for approval from James. As the transaction is in the pending approval stage, John can delete the transaction.
James returns the transaction to John for correction. John can delete the transaction as the transaction is yet to be approved.
Note: If you enable the HR: Defer Update After Approval profile option, then initiators can delete the deferred transactions till the Workflow Background Process is run. For more information about the HR: Defer Update After Approval user profile, see: User Profiles
