In the PQP_CONFIGURATION_VALUES table, you can name the rates or the sliding rates table (for additional passengers) and mileage claims element to use for each category of vehicle. The categories are defined by ownership (company or private), usage type (primary, additional, essential, or casual), vehicle type, and fuel type. You enter as many rows as you require. For example, if all company car claims share the same rates table and element, you create only one row for company cars. If you use different rates tables and elements for primary and additional company cars, but the same table and element within these usage types irrespective of fuel type, you need two rows for company cars.
You must select a different element for each vehicle type (car, motor cycle, pedal cycle, and van), although these types can share a rates table.
These values provide defaults for your business group. You can also associate a rates table with a mileage element when you generate that element in the Vehicle Processing window. If you do so, this rates table becomes the default. You can select different rates tables and elements when you allocate vehicles to employees or enter a particular claim.
Note: If you do not select an element at any level (claim, assignment, or business group), Oracle Payroll looks for the appropriate element for a claim based on employee eligibility criteria. It raises an error if there is no valid element.
