Using Star Ratings to Rate Performance and Proficiency Levels

Managers and workers can use star ratings to rate performance and proficiency levels in competencies. The star rating component is available for Competency Profile and Appraisals. In Appraisals (both appraisals created using the Appraisals function and performance-management plan appraisals), the star rating component is displayed in the Competencies region.

To use the star rating component, enterprises can set the 'HR: Enable Star Rating for Performance and Proficiency Levels in Competencies' profile option. See: Profile Options in Oracle Performance Management

Star Ratings in Appraisals

If your enterprise uses the star rating component, then managers and workers can use and view star ratings for proficiency and performance rating scales in the Competencies region of appraisals (both appraisals created using the Appraisals function and performance-management plan appraisals).

Note: The ' Current Proficiency Level' in the Competency Profile function alone supports the star rating component. In the Appraisals function the 'Current Proficiency Level' does not support the star rating component.

When you print appraisals, if the star rating component is in use, then the proficiency and performance rating scales in the Competencies region of appraisals display star ratings.

In the All Actions Awaiting Your Attention function, the star rating component is displayed for approvers, when a Competency Profile transaction is submitted for approval.
