The following applies when the Contract Source of a business document is Structured Terms.
You can use variables in clause text, to allow generalized text to be used for a variety of contracts. During authoring, these variables are substituted with values for particular cases.
For example, a variable can be defined to hold a company name; when authoring the contract, you specify the value of the variable to be an actual company name.
Note: In this page, you only associate the variables with the clause. You can add the variables into the clause text back in the page where you chose to add the variables.
In the Add Variables page, search for the variables that you want to make available for the clause.
Enter a combination of variable type, and full or partial variable name and description.
Click Go.
In the results section, select the variable or variables that you want to add to the clause.
Click Apply.
This closes the Add Variables page, and you return to the page where you chose to add the variables.
