Enabling Talent Profile in Oracle SSHR

Talent Profile is a comprehensive and integrated talent management feature that helps enterprises to obtain a complete picture of the talent profile of their workforce. Talent Profile captures and displays complete worker talent details on a single-interface.

Oracle Self-Service HR provides you with a minimal Talent Profile function to only view the talent profiles of your workforce. You require Oracle Succession Planning license to:

Talent Profile Based on Role Requirements

As managers and workers have different business requirements, Talent Profile delivers views based on their roles. For example, only managers can view the Succession Plan region.

Talent Profile Menus

To meet the different talent requirements, Oracle SSHR supplies the following Talent Profile Menus:

Menu Description
SSHR Talent Profile Manager Access Menu (HR_SSHR_TP_MGR_MENU) Enables managers to view talent profiles of workers in their supervisor hierarchy.
Talent Profile Employee Access Menu (HR_TP_EMP_MENU) Enables workers to view their talent profiles.
SSHR Menu For All Seeded Report Template Functions (HR_SSHR_TP_TEMPLATE_MENU) Enables managers to print the talent profiles of workers. Workers can print their own talent profiles.
Talent Profile Launch Menu (HR_TP_LAUNCH_MENU) Launches the Talent Profile page.

Enabling Talent Profile in Oracle SSHR

To enable managers, workers, and HR Professionals to use the Talent Profile feature, complete the following steps:

  1. Add the Talent Profile function

Add the function Talent Profile HR_TALENTPROFILE_SS to the appropriate menus of the self-service responsibilities. For example, you can add the function to the supplied or the configured Manager Self Service menu. Use the Menus window of the System Administrator responsibility to complete this task.

  2. Assign the Talent Menus to the self-service responsibility menus

To enable managers and HR professionals to use Talent Profile, add the following menus to the manager and HR professional self-service responsibility menus:

To enable workers to use Talent Profile, add the following menus to the appropriate workers' responsibility menus:

  3. Complete implementation steps to view Oracle Applications Development Framework (ADF) based nine box matrixes

Oracle SSHR uses the following default templates to display talent matrixes in the nine box format:

These default templates are of 3*3 matrix type and are built on Oracle Applications Development Framework (ADF).

    • To view the ADF-based nine box matrixes, you must complete deployment steps in an Oracle WebLogic Server (WLS) instance. For more information, refer to the Oracle Succession Planning Implementation and User Guide.

    • To edit the default templates, you require Oracle Succession Planning license and must have enabled the Talent Matrix tool in Oracle Succession Planning.

    • If you do not deploy WLS and complete the necessary implementation steps, then the application provides an option to download or save PDF reports of nine box matrixes instead of displaying them.

Display the Relevant Succession Plan Region on the Talent Profile Page of a Worker

Managers can view succession plan details of their workers when they navigate to the Talent Profile of workers. By default, the Talent Profile page of a worker displays the Succession Plan region (SuccessionPlanNewOverviewRN) that is part of the R12.2 Oracle Succession Planning model. If you are not using the Oracle Succession Planning model of R12.2, then you must hide this version of the Succession Plan region and display the pre R12.2 Succession Plan region (SuccessionPlanOverviewRN) on the Talent Profile page. See: Personalizing the Talent Profile Page

Setting up a Custom Version of the Talent Profile Feature

If you do not want to use the supplied Talent Profile menus, you can create menus based on the predefined menus and, if necessary, add or remove functions so that the menus accurately reflect your business processes. You can base your configuration on the sample menus provided although you should not change the predefined menus directly.

For information on setting up a custom version of the Talent Profile feature, see: Setup Steps to Implement a Custom Version of the Talent Profile Feature in SSHR

Configuring Talent Profile for Contingent Workers

The Talent Profile function is not supported in the predefined Contingent Worker Self Service menu, by default. If required, you can add the Talent Profile function to the predefined Contingent Worker Self Service menu (HR_CWK_DIRECT_ACCESS) or the custom Contingent Worker Self Service menu that you use.

Before, you perform the following steps, you must ensure that the HTML call for the Talent Profile Employee Home Function does not have any reference to the Organization Chart functionality.

To enable contingent workers in your enterprise to use the Talent Profile functionality, complete the following steps:

  1. Navigate to the Functional Administrator responsibility.

  2. Click the Core Services tab.

  3. Click the Menus sub tab. The Navigation Menus page appears.

  4. Search for the predefined or custom Contingent Worker Self Service menu.

  5. Click Update.

  6. Click Add Another Row.

  7. Enter Talent Profile in the Prompt field.

  8. Select Talent Profile Employee Home Function in the Function field.

  9. Select the following functions:

Regions such as Salary, Benefits, Monetary Compensation, and Compensation Statement that are not applicable to contingent workers must be hidden using the Personalization feature.
