Add Related Contract Page

A Repository contract can be related to one or more other Repository contracts. Use the Add Related Contracts page to select the Repository contract that the current contract is related to, and the type of the relationship between the contracts.

For more information, see the Related Contracts tab section.

When you relate two contracts, the relationship information is captured in both contracts.

Steps:

To link related contracts perform the following steps:

  1. From the Contracts Workbench Administrator responsibility access the contract for which you would like to establish a relationship with another contract or a purchasing document.

  2. Click Update icon for this contract.

  3. Click the Related Contracts link.

On this page you can add relationships for the contracts and view the contract hierarchy.

  4. Click Add Related Contracts.

On this page you can search for the contracts to establish a relationship based on various search criteria, such as, Operating Unit, Document Type, and so on. For relating contracts that are not from contract repository, you can select only three Document Types, which are Standard Purchase Order, Blanket Purchase Agreement, and Contract Purchase Agreement.

  5. Establish a relationship by selecting from the 13 values in the Related As list. You can establish relationship for a contract with as many documents as you want.

  6. Select the Select check box for the contracts you want to relate to then, click Relate Contracts.

If you are establishing a relationship with a purchasing document, then the Related As LOV will not contain these values: General Contract, Umbrella, or Master because a contract from the contract repository cannot be a child of the purchasing document.

If the source is a purchasing document and you are establishing a relationship with a contract from the contract repository, then the Related As LOV will not contain these values: Subcontract, Governed By, or Release because a contract from the purchasing document cannot be a parent of a contract in the contract repository.

  7. The resulting table displays your selection.

Relation Level column displays the level of the relationship. All the related as values can be categorized into three relation levels: Parent, Peer, and Child. If Related As value is General Contract, Umbrella, or Master then, the Relation Level is displayed as Parent. If Related As value is Subcontract, Governed By, or Release then, the Relation Level is displayed as Child. For any other Related As value the Relation Level is displayed as Peer.

  8. Click Contract Hierarchy to view how the contracts form the relationship. Click the icon in the Show Hierarchy column to view the relationship of contracts beginning from that contract.
