Comparing Clauses

When describing clause comparisons in business documents, the following applies when the Contract Source of a business document is Structured Terms. For contract terms in an attached document, use an offline application to perform this action directly on the document.

You can compare the text of two clauses in the following cases:

The system provides a redline comparison of the changes made to the clause text. Inserted text is underlined, deleted text is marked with a strike-through line.

Comparing Two Versions of a Clause in a Contract Template

To compare two versions of a clause in a contract template, you must be in the process of updating the clause.

In the Related Clauses subtab, select two clauses, then click Compare or Compare with Current.

Alternatively, in the Version History subtab, select two versions and click Compare.

Comparing Non-Standard and Standard Versions of a Clause

One of the methods of creating a clause in a business document is to select a standard clause, then modify the text, and make it non-standard. You can then continue to make further changes to the non-standard clause.

Any time after you make the clause non-standard you can compare the text in the clause with the text in the original standard clause.

To do this, you must be in the process of updating the clause. From the Contract Terms page, click the Update icon for the non-standard clause, then click Compare with Standard Clause.
