This section includes the following recurring billing procedures:
Complete the review of a billing plan with fixed number of lines.
Complete the review of a billing plan with indefinite number of lines.
Complete the review of a billing plan with milestone-based billing.
You have set up recurring billing.

Navigate to the Sales Orders window.
Enter Sales Order header information in the Sales Orders window - Order Information tab.
Select the Line Items tab.
Enter sales order line information for a standard item in the Sales Orders window - Line Items tab - Main sub tab.
(Optional) Select the Billing Validation check box if you want to validate the billing plan lines to the source order line.
Note: The Billing Validation field is folder enabled.
If you select this check box, the sum of the amounts on the billing plan lines must be equal to the extended price of the source order line. In the case of a partial quantity RMA, the sum of billing plan lines can be less than or equal to but not greater than the order line amount.
If you do not select this check box, no validation is enforced between the amounts on billing plan lines and the extended price of the source order line.
From the Actions menu, select Billing Plan and click OK.
Note: Billing plan information can only be captured against standard items.
The Billing Plan page appears. The Generate Billing Plan Lines Indefinitely option is selected by default. At the top of the page these fields display:
Order Number: Source order number associated with the billing plan.
Line: Source order line associated with the billing plan.
Ordered Item: Item associated with the source order line.
Item Description: Description of the ordered item.
Order Quantity: Quantity ordered of the item.
Returned Quantity: Quantity returned to this date for the item. Zero displays when creating the billing plan.
Sum of ordered quantity of all RMA lines created against the source order line.
Extended Price: Extended price of the item.
(Unit Selling Price * Quantity) of source order line
Billed Amount: Billed amount to date for the billing plan. No amounts displays when creating the billing plan.
Billed Plan Lines: Count of billing plan lines that are billed. Zero displays when creating the billing plan.
Billing Plan Status: Displays the status of the billing plan. After you create the billing plan the status is Open. The statuses are:
Open
Billing in Progress
Closed
Terminated
Review Required
Select the Generate a Fixed Number of Billing Plan Lines option.
Note: You do not have to enter parameters, and then click the Generate Billing Plan Lines button to generate a fixed number of billing plan lines for a billing plan. You can bypass these steps and enter the lines directly in the Billing Plan Lines table if you choose.
After you select the Generate a Fixed Number of Billing Plan Lines option, two additional fields display in the upper region of the page. These fields are:
Unbilled Amount: Amount pending to be billed. No amount displays when creating the billing plan. This field is available when managing billing plans for fixed number of billing plan lines and for milestone based billing plan lines.
Unbilled Plan Lines: Count of pending billing plan lines. Zero displays when creating the billing plan. This field is available when managing billing plans for fixed number of billing plan lines and for milestone based billing plan lines.
(Optional) Select Bill First Billing Plan Line with Source Order Line option if you want to bill the first billing plan line with the source order line.
If you select this option, the Start Date must correspond to the Bill Date of the second billing plan line.
Enter the following information:

| Billing Amount | (Optional) Enter the amount to be entered for each billing plan line. If you do not enter the billing amount here you can enter the billing amount later for each individual billing plan line after the lines are generated. |
| Number Of Billing Plan Lines | Enter the number of billing plan lines you want to create. |
Click Generate Billing Plan Lines.
The system automatically creates the billing plan lines according to the parameters you entered, and then displays them in the Billing Plan Lines region of the page in a table format. The Total field at the top of the table displays the sum total of all Bill Amounts for all billing plan lines.
(Optional) Enter a Description for one or more individual billing plan lines.
The description you enter is appended to the Line Description for the invoice when it is created.
(Optional) Enter or change the Bill Amount for one or more individual billing plan lines.
(Optional) Enter additional billing plan lines:
Click the Add Another Row icon at the top of the Billing Plan Lines table.
Enter this information:
Note: The system automatically generates the sequence number.

Click Save.
If the Billing Validation check box was selected, the total bill amount for all the billing plan lines is validated against the extended amount on the sales order line. Otherwise, no bill amount validation occurs. If the billing plan passes validation or there is no validation, then the billing plan is created and the Billing Plan Status is set to Open. The Delete button also displays on the Billing Plan page.
Plus, when you re-query the sales order associated with the billing plan using the Sales Orders window, and view the sales order line, the Bill Amount field displays zero $0.00 and the Recurring Billing Line Type field displays Source Order Line.
Navigate to the Sales Orders window.
Search for a sales order that has a sales order line associated to a billing plan that you want to view.
Select the Line Items tab on the Sales Orders window.
Select the line associated to the billing plan.
From the Actions menu, select Billing Plan and click OK.
The Billing Plan page appears displaying the billing plan and its associated billing plan lines.
After a billed line is created for a billing plan line, you can view the billed line and the billed line status in the Billing Plan Lines region of the page. Plus, the Billing Plan Status changes from Open to Billing In Progress. Billed lines are created using the Create Billing Lines concurrent program. After the billed line is closed the Billed Amount field, Billed Plan Lines field, Unbilled Amount field, and Unbilled Plan Line fields in the upper region of the page are updated to reflect the current billed and unbilled information.
You can only update billing plans with a billing plan status of Open, Billing In Progress, or Review Required.
Navigate to the Sales Orders window.
Search for a sales order that has a sales order line associated to a billing plan that you want to update.
Select the Line Items tab on the Sales Orders window.
Select the line associated to the billing plan.
From the Actions menu, select Billing Plan and click OK.
The Billing Plan page appears displaying the billing plan and its associated billing plan lines.
Perform one or more of these procedures:
To Update Bill Amount and/or Description
Update the Bill Amount and/or Description for an existing billing plan line.
Note: You can only update the Bill Amount and Description fields for billing plan lines if no billing has occurred against the billing plan line.
Click Save.
To Add Another Billing Plan Line
Click Add Another Row.
Enter this information:
Note: Sequence is a sequential number automatically assigned by the system.

(Optional) Description
Click Save.
To Delete Specific Billing Plan Lines
Click Delete next to a billing plan line.
Note: You can only delete a billing plan line if no billing has occurred against the billing plan line.
Click Save.
To Re-Generate the Fixed Number of Billing Plan Lines
Select the Generate a Fixed Number of Billing Plan Lines option.
Note: You can only re-generate the fixed number of billing plan lines for a billing plan with a billing plan status of Open.
(Optional) Select Bill First Billing Plan Line with Source Order Line option.
Enter the following:
Billing Frequency
Start Date
Billing Amount
Billing Period
Number of Billing Plan Lines
Click Generate Billing Plan Lines.
A message displays stating that the existing billing plan lines will be lost and would you like to proceed.
Click Yes.
The system automatically creates the billing plan lines according to the parameters you entered. The existing billing plan lines are removed.
Click Save.
You can only delete a billing plan with a billing plan status of Open.
Navigate to the Sales Orders window.
Search for a sales order that has a sales order line associated to a billing plan that you want to delete.
Select the Line Items tab on the Sales Orders window.
Select the line associated to the billing plan.
From the Actions menu, select Billing Plan and click OK.
The Billing Plan page appears displaying the billing plan and its associated billing plan lines.
Click Delete at the top of the page.
A message displays stating that the billing plan lines will be lost and would you like to continue.
Click Yes.
All of the billing plan lines are deleted.
You can only manually terminate billing plans with a billing plan status of Billing In Progress.
The Terminate button displays on the Billing Plan page after you have created a billing line for one of the billing plan lines on the billing plan.
Navigate to the Sales Orders window.
Search for a sales order that has a sales order line associated to a billing plan that you want to terminate
Select the Line Items tab on the Sales Orders window.
Select the line associated to the billing plan.
From the Actions menu, select Billing Plan and click OK.
The Billing Plan page appears displaying the billing plan and its associated billing plan lines. If a billing plan line has been billed the Billed Line and Billed Line Status columns are populated for the billing plan line.
Click Terminate.
A warning message appears asking are you sure you want to terminate the billing plan?
Click Yes.
All of the billing plan lines that have not been billed are deleted. The lines that have been billed remain. The billing plan status of the billing plan changes from Billing In Progress to Terminated.
You can only complete a review for billing plans with a billing plan status of Review Required.
The Review Complete button displays on the Billing Plan page when you attempt to invoice the source order line and the amounts on the billing plan lines for the billing plan do no match the extended amount on the sales order line. This occurs even when you have selected to not perform billing validation. Before the source order line invoice can be created, you must review the billing plan and make any adjustments if necessary to ensure that the amount discrepancy between the billing plan lines and the extended amount on the sales order line is what you intended.
The Review Complete button also displays when you have created an RMA for a partial quantity of the source order line.
Navigate to the Sales Orders window.
Search for a sales order that has a sales order line associated to a billing plan that you want to review.
Select the Line Items tab on the Sales Orders window.
Select the line associated to the billing plan.
From the Actions menu, select Billing Plan and click OK.
The Billing Plan page appears displaying the billing plan and its associated billing plan lines.
(Optional) Change the information associated with existing billing plan lines and/or create new billing plan lines.
Click Review Complete.
The Billing Plan Status changes from Review Required to Open.
Click Save.
Navigate to the Sales Orders window.
Enter Sales Order header information in the Sales Orders - Order Information tab.
Enter sales order line information for a standard item in the Sales Orders - Line Items tab - Main sub tab.

Otherwise, no bill amount validation occurs. If the billing plan passes validation or there is no validation, then the billing plan is created and the Billing Plan Status is set to Open. The Delete button also displays on the Billing Plan page.
When defining indefinite number of billing plan lines, these billing plans lines do not display in the Billing Plan page until after the billing line is created by running the Create Billing Lines concurrent program. After the program runs, you can view the billing plan lines associated to the billing plan using the Billing Plan page.
Plus, when you re-query the sales order using the Sales Orders window, and view the sales order line, the Bill Amount field displays $0.00 and the Recurring Billing Line Type displays Source Order Line.
Navigate to the Sales Orders window.
Search for a sales order that has a sales order line associated to a billing plan that you want to view.
Select the Line Items tab on the Sales Orders window.
Select the line associated to the billing plan.
From the Actions menu, select Billing Plan and click OK.
The Billing Plan page appears displaying the billing plan and its associated billing plan lines.
If you specified an indefinite number of lines for the billing plan, billing plan lines do not display on this page until billing lines have been created using the Create Billing Lines concurrent program. After a billing line is created for a billing plan line, you can view the bill date, bill amount, billed line, and billed line status in the Billing Plan Lines region of the page. Plus, the Billing Plan Status changes from Open to Billing In Progress. After the billed line is closed, the Billed Amount field and Billed Plan Lines field in the upper region of the page are updated to reflect the current billed information.
After a billing plan has been created by entering indefinite number of lines parameters those parameters are saved. You can change those parameters, but the new parameter values are applicable to billing plan lines that are created in the future.
You can only update billing plans with a billing plan status of Open or Billing In Progress.

Search for a sales order that has a sales order line associated to a billing plan that you want to update.
Select the Line Items tab on the Sales Orders window.
Select the line associated to the billing plan.
From the Actions menu, select Billing Plan and click OK.
The Billing Plan page appears displaying the billing plan and its associated billing plan lines.

Select the Milestone Based Billing option.
After you select the Milestone Based Billing option, two additional fields appear in the upper region of the page. These fields are:
Unbilled Amount: This field displays the amount yet to be billed. The field is available when managing fixed-number and milestone-based billing plans.
Unbilled Plan Lines: This field displays the number of pending billing plan lines. When you create a billing plan, this number is zero. This field is available when managing billing plans for fixed-number of billing plan lines and for milestone-based billing plan lines.
Enter the number of milestone billing plan lines you want to create in the Number Of Milestone field.
Click Generate Milestones.
The system automatically creates the billing plan lines according to the parameters you entered, and then displays them in a table format in the Billing Plan Lines region of the page.
Enter this information:

| Milestone | Select a milestone for the billing plan line. Milestones are defined using extensible lookup type BILLING_PLAN_MILESTONE. Oracle Order Management provides the Booking, Fulfillment, and Customer Acceptance predefined milestones, which must be entered in the billing plan in the same order listed here. You cannot select a milestone that has already been reached for an order. The milestone field is appended to the item description attribute for the invoice when it is created. |
| Bill Percent or Bill Amount | Enter either the bill percent or the bill amount of the billing plan for this milestone. When you enter a value in the Bill Percent field, the Bill Amount field is automatically populated. The reverse is also true. |
| Bill Date | (Optional) Select a bill date for user-defined custom milestones. You must manually enter the bill date or use the PO API. Billing cannot start before booking and custom milestones must occur after booking even if Booking is not selected as a milestone. If a bill date for a custom milestone is prior to booking, the milestone will only be invoiced after the order is booked. For the predefined milestones (Booking, Fulfillment, and Customer Acceptance) the bill date is the completion date of the event. The completion date is automatically populated by Oracle Order Management for each milestone and you cannot manually enter a bill date. |

The Billing Plan Status changes from Open to Billing In Progress. Billed lines are created using the Create Billing Lines concurrent program. After the billed line is closed, the Billed Amount field, the Billed Plan Lines field, the Unbilled Amount field, and the Unbilled Plan Line fields are updated to reflect the current billed and unbilled information.
You can only update a billing plan with a status of Open, Billing In Progress, or Review Required.

Search for a sales order that has a sales order line associated with a billing plan that you want to update.
Select the Line Items tab on the Sales Orders window.
Select the line associated to the billing plan.
