Entering Information for a PRE

You enter information for a Provincial Reporting Establishment (PRE), such as employer identification or magnetic filing information, in the Prov Reporting Est window.

arrow icon   To enter information for a PRE:

  1. Enter or query the PRE in the Organization window.

  2. In the Organization Classifications region, select Prov Reporting Establishment and choose Others.

  3. In the Additional Organization Information window, click Prov Reporting Est. and then OK.

  4. Click inside the Prov Reporting Est. field to open the parameters window.

  5. Select the province, and enter the Quebec Identification Number in the Province Identification Number field. This is the number that was assigned to the employer by the Revenu Quebec.

    The format for this number is 10 digits, followed by "RS," followed by 4 digits. For example: 1234567890RS0001.

    Note: Oracle HRMS validates the first 10 digits of this number.

  6. If a transmitter number has been assigned to this PRE by the provincial government, select Yes in the Transmitter (Y/N) field.

    If the year end information for this PRE is reported through magnetic media under a different PRE, then select No and select the appropriate PRE in the Transmitter PRE field.

    PREs of the same type (such as RL1 or RL2) that have been identified as a transmitter in the Transmitter Y/N field appear in this List of Values.

  7. If this is not the transmitter, select the PRE that is and save your work. You do not need to complete any further fields.

    Only transmitters with the same reporting type (such as T4/RL1) appear in this list of values.

arrow icon   To record the beginning and ending RL slip numbers:

Revenu Quebec provides a starting and ending slip number range for the submission of RL slips via an electronic interface. These numbers appear in the upper right corner, top row, of the RL PDF and are also referenced in the electronic record for that slip.

To record the beginning and ending slip numbers:

  1. Enter or query the PRE in the Organization window.

  2. In the Organization Classifications region, select Prov Reporting Establishment and choose Others.

  3. In the Additional Organization Information window, click Prov Reporting Est3 and then OK.

  4. Click inside the Prov Reporting Est. field to open the parameters window.

  5. Enter the Starting RL1/RL2 Slip Number provided by Revenu Quebec for electronic reporting. This must be an 8 digit number.

  6. Enter the Ending RL1/RL2 Slip Number provided by Revenu Quebec for electronic reporting. This must be an 8 digit number.

    Note: The Provincial Year End Preprocess will not error out if the starting or ending slip number is missing, nor if the generated slip number exceeds the range. However, a warning message is written to the log file when you enable logging using action parameters.

arrow icon   To enter RL-2 Source of Income information for a PRE:

Perform the following steps to provide the source of income and description information for employee RL-2s at the PRE level. You can override these defaults at the employee level through the "Additional RL2 Information" Person EIT.

  1. Enter or query the PRE in the Organization window.

  2. In the Organization Classifications region, place the cursor on the classification Prov Reporting Establishment and choose the Others button.

  3. In the Additional Organization Information window, click Prov Reporting Est2. and then OK.

  4. Click inside the Prov Reporting Est2. field to open the parameters window.

  5. Specify the RL-2 source of income.

  6. If the RL-2 source of income is "Other," provide a description.

    The description is reported through further information code 201. As space on the RL2 slip is limited, only the first 12 characters of the description will be displayed under this code.

  7. Click OK, and save your work.
