Report on Hirings

The Report on Hirings is a monthly report that employers submit to Service Canada. It is part of a government insurance program designed to deter and detect overpayments.

The Report on Hirings displays Social Insurance Numbers and first day worked details for newly hired and rehired employees.

You are able to display the information in any of the following sort orders:

Run the Report on Hirings Interface program to generate a text (.txt) file to submit hiring information electronically to Service Canada using their online application Data Gateway. This program also generates an exception report in a PDF format to view employees who have incorrect data. For example, the exception information includes invalid or duplicate employee social insurance numbers. See: Running the Report on Hirings Interface.
