Legal Employer: Entering Tax Registration Information

The tax registration information you specify here applies to the company at the legal employer level and is inclusive for all subordinate GREs.

arrow icon   To enter Tax Registration information:

  1. In the Organization window, query the Business Group if it does not already appear there.

  2. In the Organization Classifications region, select Legal Employer, choose Others, and select Tax Registration.

  3. Click in the Additional Organization Information window to open the Tax Registration window.

  4. Specify the legal employer's official name (as recognized by the federal government and Social Security agencies) and RFC ID.

  5. Specify the name of the person who has the authority to represent the employer during any legal issue with a government institution.

  6. Indicate how HRMS should calculate the days per month or year. By default, HRMS uses the actual days per month. You can override the default with an average:

    The settings you specify here apply to all GREs in this Legal Employer. You can override them at the GRE level.

  7. Specify the date when HRMS was implemented for this legal employer.

    HRMS reports any hires, re-hires, and terminations after this date to Social Security as affiliation transactions.

    Customers who have migrated from a legacy system or implemented the Mexico consulting solution must set this value to prevent the SS Archive process from attempting to process the entirety of the legacy data.

    If you leave this field blank, HRMS defaults to 01-JAN-1951.

  8. Specify the start and end dates for your Tax Adjustment process. Specify these dates in the MM/DD format.

    Use these segments to specify the date range within which an employee must maintain continuous employment with the legal employer to be eligible for Annual Tax Adjustment process.

    The statutory defaults are 01/01 start and 12/01 end.
