The postal code in Finland contains the information of the postal code and the post office. You require the correct post office information to identify the employee's tax municipality. You can enter postal codes using Postal codes upload functionality or, you can add postal code information manually in Application Utilities Lookups.
Note: You can only complete the following steps if you have the post office file, provided by the Finnish post office. If you use the upload functionality, then the application displays the postal codes, and post offices in both Finnish and Swedish.
Convert the post office file that you receive from the Finnish post office to a text file (with extension .txt).
Run the meta-mapper and place the converted file in a directory readable by the database. This is a system administration task.
Choose the Single Request option.
Query the Finnish Postal Code Upload request in the Submit Request window.
Enter the name of the file that contains all the post office details.
Submit the request.
Close the window.
Navigate to the Application Utilities Lookups window.
Query for the FI_POSTAL_CODE lookup table.
Enter the postal code in the Code column.
Enter the postal code and the post office in Meaning column, for example, 00100 HELSINKI. To display both Finnish and Swedish post offices, enter all values in the Meaning column, for example, 00100 HELSINKI / HELSINGFORS.
