During Contract Expert setup, you define Contract Creation and Policy Deviation rules, then assign the rules to Contract Expert enabled contract templates.
Rules consist of one or more conditions and the results of evaluating the conditions.
The rule condition types are:
Question condition. This consists of a question and one or more answers. The questions are displayed when you later run Contract Expert during the authoring of a business document.
Clause condition. This checks for the existence in the business document of clauses, which must have been selected by Contract Expert; you cannot check for clauses brought into a business document through the contract template, or added manually. The Clause condition is only applicable to Clause Selection rules.
Variable condition. This checks the value of a system or user-defined variable.
For each rule, you must perform the following:
Define one or more conditions.
Define how the conditions are to evaluated, that is, whether all the conditions must be true, or any single condition.
Specify the results when the conditions are evaluated.
Rule results consist of either or both of the following:
One or more clauses to be added.
One or more additional questions.
Additional questions in rule results serve as the basis for the setup of dependent questions. For more information, see Creating Dependencies Between Questions.
You must activate rules before they can be used in a Contract Expert authoring session.
You assign one or more rules to a contract template, which must have been enabled for Contract Expert. You can assign the same rule to multiple Contract Expert enabled contract templates.
