During authoring, when you use Contract Expert on a business document, you typically answer one or more questions, and, as a result, clauses are added to the business document. When you use Contract Expert on a business document, the system also runs the Policy Deviation rules and reports deviations on business terms.
During a Contract Expert authoring session, giving answers to questions is the most direct, visible way of getting clauses added to the business document. There are other ways that clauses can be added, which are evaluated automatically during a Contract Expert authoring session:
As a result of the value of one or more variables.
As a result of the existence or absence of clauses selected by Contract Expert for the business document, either in the current Contract Expert authoring session or in previous sessions.
A Contract Expert authoring session typically consists of following stages:
Questions stage - you start Contract Expert and answer questions.
View stage - you view the clauses to be added into the business document as a result of your answers and other rule conditions. You can also review the deviations report on business terms.
